Sam wakes in a cabin to find Mac, a civilian, tending her wound. Before Sam can safely get rid of the man, Flinn is there. Sam and Mac are now fleeing for their lives, trying to stay one step ahead of Flinn and other agents. Their biggest problem is that a drug has been released into Sam's system that has temporarily wiped her memories. As they scramble to make sense out of what is going on, Sam and Mac begin to act upon the passion that has been sizzling between them. Yet in the end, Sam knows that she will eventually have to find a way to leave Mac safely behind, because staying with her would get him killed for sure.

**** FOUR STARS! The author saved the best sister's story for last. Yet toward the end, Charlie, Alex, and their men enter for a cameo or two. There is one child that I would dearly have loved to see grow up. (I refuse to give away his name. No spoilers.) Perhaps someday he will have his own story told. I would not mind meeting Sloan again either.

This story stands alone. You do not have to read other books of the series to fully enjoy this one; however, those stories are just as terrific as Sam's. Action, suspense, romance, and paranormal conspiracy blend smoothly together to give readers a heart pounding ride. Awesome! ****

Joyce Lamb’s True Shot follows her True Vision and True Colors. Those books follow Sam’s sisters, Charlie and Alex, who are in the process of discovering some psychic abilities of their own. True Shot is a romance and suspense/thriller with some dark themes.

Certain elements of the plot (what Sam’s boss is trying to do to her) and her boss himself are a bit on the florid and overly eevil side. It’s clever, but feels over the top. I’m sorry I’m being vague, but since Lamb strings that revelation out a bit I feel I shouldn’t give it away in the review.

Sam and Mac make a nice pairing. In particular I love the way Mac gets a little too snarky when he gets scared, thus getting himself in trouble. And I love that it isn’t shown as him having unlikely composure in the face of adversity–it’s something he does to cope with being afraid. He felt like more of a point-of-view character than Sam, which is unusual; it was easier to relate to him than to Sam the super-spy.

There’s some nice action and definite suspense (particularly early on as Sam and Mac try to elude their pursuers). There’s danger and some sexually dark material. The relationship is fun, and there’s some very nice sex. Overall it’s an enjoyable book with good characters.

Love all Joyce Lamb novels... Exciting, action packed, romance, everyhing you could want in a romantic suspense.. Wondering when her next book will be out....
This book was a great read. I did not want to put it down, so it's good to read if you have a spare 8 hours in a row=) I would highly recommend this product and the seller was great to work with.
True Shot by Joyce Lamb is a gripping thriller with paranormal elements. At the beginning it's hard to see how the hero and heroine can ever find a happy ending, what with all the bad guys after them and their personal conflicts, but Lamb pulls it off credibly and left me breathless at the end. Can't wait for her next book.
I enjoyed the first two books in Ms. Lamb's True Trilogy, but True Shot is my favorite. Surprisingly, Mac Hunter is not an Alpha Hero. He's a likable, gorgeous guy who's timid around guns--not the best scenario when coupled with Samantha Trudeau, a psychic spy, suffering from amnesia, on the run for her life. But don't let Mac's demeanor fool you. When the need arises, he'll do anything to keep Sam safe, including wielding a weapon. Instead of rushing through this book, I savored every detail. This was a treat after a long day, and I looked forward to seeing what would happen next. This book has everything for the reader a strong plot, great characters, witty dialogue, sexual tension that sizzles, HOT love scenes, and an unexpected, pulse-pounding ending. This book is a keeper!!!
