But this one ticked me off.*Spoilers*
First off, what kind of agent, that is supposed to be guarding her, gets taken down twice by bad guys because he’s not paying attention? If he’s supposed to be their best agent then that organization is pretty sad.
I understand trauma, but a good person doesn’t use words to stab their (supposed) loved one in the back because they’re hurting. I also understand that women tend to be stronger than men, but what he went thru doesn’t give him the right to be verbally abusive. He hates her for something that was not her fault? Way past I don’t think so. He knew what he could potentially be getting into when he decided to get involved with her.
I can understand him needing his space, but instead of explaining that he insisted on hating and then dumping someone he (supposedly) loved. What she went thru was so much worse than him, and she was amazing afterwards. And if D thinks that she only had physical trauma to cope with then he’s dead wrong. X said exactly what I was thinking, which was that he let the bad guy win. I so wanted the h to walk away and end up with someone else. This person, (I won’t call him a man), is no H.
I hadn’t read the last few chapters until now. I’m seriously debating changing this rating to one star because I’m so annoyed. He believes her lying (should be ex) gf when she told him the h had moved on with someone else. Even knowing what they had, instead of finding out the truth, (maybe ask D? duh), he started dating another woman. I’m so livid I can’t see straight. (I guess that’s a consequence of the author writing feelings so well.) He’s so stupid he not only started dating, but he also brought said date to their mutual friends’ wedding. Just to rub her nose in it. I Really dislike him, which I assume isn’t what the author was going for. How many times is she going to have to forgive his screw ups? That’s just wrong. And explain to me why her gf’s bf, who works for him and is supposed to be a good friend of his, didn’t tell him she was lying??? Wtf! It was all just too absurd. Most of the great reviews mentioned how strong the h was, but no one seemed to get upset with him. Why isn’t he expected to be strong too? The way she portrays them I’m not sure the author has much respect for the men around her.
I was forced to downgrade this from two stars to one because, hello! cliffhanger! Cliffhangers and cheats are automatic one stars from me. I received the first in this series free, and since I like to encourage good writers I paid for the next two. This one was so not worth the money that I won’t be buying any more. I may or may not give the author one more chance with the next one thru KU, but I haven’t decided yet.

Ten Thousand Truths edition by Kelli Jean Romance eBooks Reviews
I review the same way that I like to enter a book. I want to know if it is a happy book, an angsty book, a light book or a heavy book but I don't want to know any plot details.
Ten Thousand Truths is the 3rd book in the series. Technically I think you could almost read without the first 2 because each book focuses on a new couple, but I really think that because of shared characters and back stories, you need to start with Ten Thousand Words. Although this was my favorite in the series, really they are ALL 5 star reads.
When I set out to read a book, I typically finish in one sitting. I don't like to carry on and I have to know what happens. With TTT, it took me 4 days to read it. 4 days to process and come to terms with what was happening and recover from the emotion. And not just the angst, the joy and love as well. Opie and Deo's story is not common and it's not a love that I have read before. It was shocking and overwhelming.
Of course it's a Kelli Jean book, so there's the humor and sarcasm and lightness that Kelli is so amazing at mixing with all the dark and deep and all encompassing. I laughed out loud every time Deo mentioned the fat German kid living inside of him. I think we can all relate to that but it was more humorous coming from a gigantic caveman. Opie is one of my favorite heroin's of all time. Her inner strength and self preservation inspired me and made me appreciate how I have overcome my own scars.
I'm warning you now that you will FEEL and you will HURT and you will CRY but you will also walk away feeling strong and feeling connected and introspective.
My brain is a scattered mess of mush at the moment and I don't know how I'm even forming words adequately right now to write this review.
Ten Thousand Truths is the third installment in the Ten Thousand series, and Kelli Jean's best work yet! This book will have you on the edge of your seat, glued to the spot, not wanting to put it down for one bloody moment!
Each of her books are unique and special, but I have to say this one is my favorite thus far and it was all due to Deo Dhal ♡
"It was happening again. That feeling, that unmistakable high, warmth and goodness and... light. It felt as though the light that shimmered just below her pale skin was seeping into me, glittering and bright, causing this intense glow within my chest. It radiated everywhere, filing me up searing each nerve ending within me."
Amadeo 'Deo' Dahl is a behemoth of man in all the right places ;). He's rugged, beautiful, intense, and has a dark past. A past that haunts him. Opie will be a light that cleanses Deo's soul. You'll see him go through hell and come back in this book. It was those moments that left me utterly devastated. I even messaged Kelli to yell at her lol.
Odessa 'Opie' Powys is a warrior. A beautiful soul with raven hair and violet eyes. Her past is heartbreaking to read about. She's haunted by her nightmares and her scars are reminders of the hell she had to live through. She's had a crush on Deo since thirteen years ago and when she gets the chance to be with him, she gives him everything of her. He's her heart's wandering home, as Kelli puts it. Her other half. And that alone couldn't be more truer.
"Deo is everything," "He's my journey. My wandering heart's home. Wherever he is, that's where I'll be."
Together Opie and Deo must face intense moments and face the darkest parts of each other. It was pure magic, but it's not the typical love story you're use to reading about. The storyline is definitely darker than the other books. It had the elements for a perfect storm. It's raw. Gritty. Intense. Wrenching brokenness. But it's beautiful and real and so consuming.
Kelli has once again knocked me on my behind and left me breathless. This woman has a brilliant mind and if you haven't read any of her books yet, I don't know what you're waiting for. Jump in now! You won't be disappointed.
But this one ticked me off.
